DESIGN CONCEPT | BOWRAL
Josie and Jim wanted better use of their backyard, and wanted to ensure they could still enjoy their love of plants. It was important to keep this in mind during the consultation.
We did multiple design concepts on this project, and each time we met we tweaked them even more. What started as an added deck, turned into planting boxes, cladding, a feature wall and custom art works.
Creating a concept for any homeowner really is an important part of what we do. It allows us to share our vision and their potential. This process provides transparency and trust. A homeowner can see first-hand their investment and partner with us on their goals and budget to achieve it.
MATERIALS | BOWRAL
Material selections are at the forefront of what we do. We have partnered with the biggest ranges in Australia, so we can continue to offer the highest quality this industry has to offer.
Trex is designed and manufactured in America, and set the standard for composite decking worldwide, with it's top range capping solutions. As a WPC (Wood Plastic Composite), it's created with a combination of plastic and wood chip (instead of wood dust) creating a solid, cooler, decking board. For the decking we used Trex Lineage in the colour Biscayne. Trex lineage is a top tier range, with unbeatable fade, scratch and stain resistance, as well as a 50 Year Warranty.
The main highlight within the Trex Lineage range is that it is designed with heat migating technology, that keeps it cooler under foot. It is currently the coolest composite decking on the market - literally.
For an added feature around the planter boxes we installed Woodevo, Deep Castellation Cladding in the colour Black. The profile offers deep extrusion, allowing for a more dramatic look when installed. The colour black is striking in itself.
The feature wall was originally quoted as castellation cladding, however they decided to lean more towards an art feature concept. We built the wall, with a recessed section for added dimension - where we installed artwork from Decoview, and custom lighting.
RESULT | BOWRAL
Stunning. These tones compliment each other so well and have become a customer favourite here in Denham Court. Texture has a huge impact when designing an outdoor area. Therefore adding cladding throughout the spa and decking, as well as greenary really completes an outdoor living design. We installed a border around the whole deck, for a neat finish. With two large areas we created different patterns for each section, allowing them to appear as two different entertaining areas. The first step up to the spa has a herringbone design, a feature that is aesthetically pleasing. And the most practical upgrade is the double edge border corner, which doubles as a feature for either drinks and snacks, or easy access in and out of the spa and seating.
