PROJECT HIGHLIGHT | WEST PENNANT HILLS

Homeowner John, based in West Pennant Hills, had seen a previous arbor we had built and knew he wanted this design. The solid timber replica beams are a customer favourite and it's easy to see why.

DESIGN CONCEPT | WEST PENNANT HILLS

We went through a few different designs concepts on this project - all included the arbor of course. The designs were based around different budget options, with the goal being to maximise the design - while remaining in budget.

We discussed different stair options to lead down into the back yard, and recommended a long length stair/platform. Adding in lights is always the best upgrade we can recommend. The ambient impact they have as the sun goes down is well worth the added investment.

MATERIALS | WEST PENNANT HILLS

This natural looking board is brown with black hues, which gives it that natural timber look, along with it's varied grain. It's Woodevo, Home Advanced in the colour 'Oak'. The board itself is available in two widths, 140mm and 200mm. For the spa surrounds we used the 140mm, and for the arbor we used the wide 200mm boards for a more dramatic, solid looking frame.

The Home Advanced range is a PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) board, meaning it's completely wood free. This results in it being highly resistant to mould, mildew and rot. It also has a P5 Slip rating, the highest slip rating on the market. Ensuring added safety when getting in and out of the spa.

The cladding is also Woodevo. The Deep Castellation Cladding, in the colour Black, is highly fade resistance - top priority when being installed outside.

RESULT | WEST PENNANT HILLS

With such a large well designed backyard deep in West Pennant Hills, we wanted to ensure the spa area served as it's own personal space. All round we couldn't be happier with the outcome, from the corner bench, background cladding feature wall, arbor and lighting. We not only met the brief we exceeded it.
