PROJECT HIGHLIGHT | WILTON
Working on Jason's property was definitely memorable. While on site in Wilton, his wife would bake us cakes while we took in the view of bushlands and alpacas. We wished this job went longer than it did, oh the serenity. As you will see the deck itself, was no small project. The deck was a huge 80 square metres in total.
DESIGN CONCEPT | WILTON
With the natural setting of this home, it only made sense we would present our most natural product - Woodevo, Home Advanced, in the colour 'Oak'. You see not all composite decking products are equal. They vary in looks, colours, benefits and costs. It's important when working with a homeowner that we are able to showcase the options best suited to what their personal needs are. Informative decisions are best made by homeowners when they have everything they need to make the right choice for their home.
We discussed different stair options to lead down into the back yard, and designed longth length stair. Here we were able to maximise the space, and turn something practical into something aesthetically pleasing. Adding in lights is always the best upgrade we can recommend. The ambient impact they have as the sun goes down is well worth the added investment.
MATERIALS | WILTON
Material selections are at the forefront of what we do. We have partnered with the biggest ranges in Australia, so we can continue to offer the highest quality this industry has to offer.
This natural looking board is brown with black hues, which gives it that natural look on a large scale. It's Woodevo, Home Advanced in the colour 'Oak'. The board itself is available in two widths, 140mm and 200mm, we used the 140mm boards to replicate real timber.
The Home Advanced range is a PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) board, meaning it's completely wood free. This results in it being highly resistant to mould, mildew and rot.
RESULT | WILTON
It's an incredible moment when you can't tell what was there first, the landscape or the deck. And that was the goal, to maximise their outdoor living, while respecting and working delicately with their current landscape.
Stepping out onto their new entertaining area, straight boards to create the illusion of two seperate living areas. As we step further out, we used the full lengths of the boards here, with a border - which avoided the need for a breaker board. Applying Square Edge boards as stairs treads down the stairs is what going the extra mile looks like. High impact, minimal budget impact.
We used Trex Stair Riser lights - they have a small, curved, shield across the top that force the light downwards, resulting in perfectly light stairs.
