This curved composite deck in West Pennant Hills came about after the homeowners saw Ballard’s Carpentry’s display stand at the Pool & Spa Show and asked for the same design in their own backyard. The finished deck wraps a smooth curve around the swim spa, built in WoodEvo Home Advanced composite decking in Oak to match the display piece that first caught their eye.
The deck’s base is finished in black WoodEvo castellation cladding, giving the swim spa a clean, tailored appearance rather than an exposed shell. Designing the deck to allow proper access for spa servicing meant building a large panel into the main cladding face, made removable so the spa can still be reached easily once the deck was in place. Beacon deck lighting was added to round out the finish and keep the space usable after dark.
The result gives the homeowners a neat, curved composite deck that suits daily spa use without compromising access underneath. A homeowner planning a similar swim spa deck can expect the same approach: A curved layout, cladding that hides the spa cleanly, and practical access built into the design rather than added as an afterthought.
